Natural portrait

Lotus flower…a beautiful creation of God. It’s probably one of the most photographed flower, and I have known of some friends who would buy a 300mm f/2.8 just to do that.

My wife bought a potted lotus plant recently, and the timely was just perfect today with good light, and the flower is just about to open. I use my DA70mm f/2.4 (some shots with Canon 250D attachment) to capture best part of the flower. There isn’t much nice background, but shooting it at a higher angle with some clever cropping, it still brings out the mood I wanted.

I edited it in Adobe Lightroom, and added a touch of vignetting to make the flower stands out a little more. This is very much the same treatment I would do for human portraitures, and it works just fine with nature shots like these too.
